Dubai has officially revealed the concept for a new iconic metro station at Dubai Creek Harbour, marking a major milestone in the city’s long-term urban and transport strategy. Announced by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the station will form a key component of the upcoming Blue Line expansion, designed to support Dubai’s rapid population growth and future urban districts.

The concept was unveiled during the Dubai International Project Management Forum (DIPMF), signaling the government’s commitment to combining world-class infrastructure, forward-thinking urban planning, and architectural excellence.

Design & Architectural Vision

Planned to rise approximately 74 metres, the station is set to become the world’s tallest metro station. With a built-up area of around 11,000 square metres, the structure is designed not only as a transport facility but also as a visual landmark within Dubai Creek Harbour.

The architectural design is led by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), the internationally renowned firm behind some of the world’s most iconic skyscrapers and infrastructure projects. Their involvement places the station in the same global league as Dubai’s other statement developments — blending scale, efficiency, and contemporary design.

Capacity & Urban Function

The station is engineered to handle up to 160,000 passengers per day, positioning it as a major future transit hub within the city. It will play a critical role in connecting Dubai Creek Harbour to the wider metro network, supporting:
